A year has passed since the Russian invasion started in Ukraine. I watched a BBC/Panorama documentary and learnt how primitive and basic are the conditions that even the paramedics, who are helping front line soldiers, are having to cope with in this 21st century. As their towns are destroyed, people have to live with temporary kitchens and outdoor bathrooms… That is the reality of a war zone – modern technology does not work there.
ロシアがウクライナに侵攻してから一年が経って、まだ戦争は続いてたくさんの人たちが避難先で暮らさなければいけない事実。BBCのドキュメンタリーで、前線の兵士のための救急医療士が彼女と仲間の住んでいる場所を見せていましたが、半壊した家の仮のキッチンで食事を作り、屋外に延ばしたホースの下で体を洗うというタフな生活でした。しかも、近くに頻繁に爆撃の音を聞き、駆けつけた前線で負傷したり亡くなってしまう同胞の兵士たちを助ける毎日。まだまだ、今も外からの援助が必要です。
