ハチとハエの見分け方

There are many Bee and Beekeeping themes on stamps – and some depict bees correctly and others don’t. This bee has 4 wings – correct! That means the previously featured British stamp was not.

In fact, some flies have stripes on their bodies and they look like bees, but they have only two wings and that is how you distinguish them from bees. However, they rarely stop to show the numbers of wings to us.

驚くほどたくさんの国で、ハチと養蜂をテーマの切手が発行されていて、中にはハチや蜂の巣のわりといいかげんな描写もあります。このスペインの切手では羽が4枚あって、これは正しくハチです。そして、一つ前に取り上げたイギリスの切手は正しくない。

花に集まる昆虫の中にはハエもいて、その中には黄色と黒の縞があってハチにしか見えないものもいますが、羽の数が2枚だったらハエ！こうやって種類を見分けるのですが、試してみると、じっと止まって羽の数を数えさせてくれるハチもハエも少ないことに気づきます、、。
