It has been 3 weeks of this invasion in Ukraine. But a brave journalist Marina Ovsyannikova showed the rest of the world a hope that not all Russians are supporting the dictator, nor ignoring the fact. Her words are precious: “We Russians are thinking and intelligent people. It’s in our power alone to stop all this madness. Go protest.”

This stamp features one of the Peace Signs. Historically, there were several symbols of peace – olive branches, Doves and White poppies in 1933 “as a pledge to peace that war must not happen again”. The original of this Peace Symbol was designed in 1958 by Gerald Holtom for the Campaign for Nuclear Disarmament.

プーチンのウクライナ侵略は続き、市街地への爆撃で一般市民の死者が出ていますが、ジャーナリスト、マリナ・オフシャンニコワの行動は、全てのロシア人が無視を決め込んでいるわけではないという一抹の希望を与えてくれます。「私たちロシア人は考え続ける知的な人間だ。この狂気をくいとめるのは私たちの力しかない。抗議活動をしよう。」

平和や反原発を訴える切手はたくさん発行されています。歴史的に、平和を象徴してきたのはハトやオリーブの枝で、第二次世界大戦の前に「大戦の惨禍を繰り返したくない」という思いから生まれた「白いポピー」もありました。そして、このピースマークのオリジナルは1958年に、イギリス人のジェラルド・ホルトムによってデザインされたものです。
