I thought about the difficulty of painting wings which are sticking out from a dressed angel on the previous image by Fra Angelico. Were there holes on the back of her dress..? And this image is beyond those details – the whole body of the angel is covered by 3 pair of wings.
I visited Venice many times, but I haven’t been inside St Mark’s Basilica. Another place is added to my list, where I wish to visit when we can travel again.
一つ前の切手のオリジナル画を見て、このルネッサンス画家は服を着た天使の翼のディテールをどう考えて描いたのかしら、、？などと不謹慎なことを考えたのですが、この天使はもっと突き抜けています。翼6枚が体全体を覆って、足がちょっとのぞいているだけ。
ヴェニスには何度か行ったことがありますが、この天使が描かれているサン・マルコ寺院の中には入ったことがないのです。ウィキペディアの画像を見て、これは行かねば！と思ったのでした。パンデミックが収束して、旅行が再開されたら、、。
