Temple of Hercules

1954, Jordan
Greek capitals in Amman (probably)

Another stamp with Corinthian capitals from Jordan, probably showing a ruin site on a hill in Amman, a Temple of Hercules which was said to have been ordered to be built by Marcus Aurelius Antoninus. An example of spreading the Greek style to a wider area by the Romans who loved Greek art.
