The construction of Lausanne cathedral, which this rose window belongs to, started in 1170. It took 65 years to complete. Three master masons must have worked really hard to complete this in 65 years, though.

The capital decorations in the interior columns are very similar to the one in this stamp.

「バラ窓」と直訳されている教会建築の飾り窓は、ゴシック様式に特徴的なステンドグラスです。この窓があるローザンヌの大聖堂は1170年に建築がはじまり、65年後の1235年に完成しました。この壮大さからすると、多数の石工が猛烈に働いたのだろうなぁ、、と想像します。

内装写真に見える柱頭の葉が集まったような装飾は、先に紹介した石工が彫刻しているものと似ています。
