石から彫られた中世の窓

I found a stamp with a type of window which the stone mason might be making in my previous post. Gothic Architecture was dates from around 12 – 14 century and that was the era shortly after the time of the Domesday Book. These Tracery windows have complicated stonework sections which support glass as well.

This Austrian stamp is a part of the History of Letters issue, and it shows a heraldry seal with a letter.

ひとつ前の切手で石工が彫っていたのは、こんな窓だったのかも？という切手を見つけました。12〜14世紀にかけてのゴシック様式は、中世の国勢調査だった『ドームスディ・ブック』のすぐ後に始まっています。「Tracery」と名付けられた壁の一部は複雑な断面の彫刻でつくられ、のちに隙間にガラスがはめ込まれて窓となり、教会の中へ光を導きました。

このオーストリアの切手は「文字の歴史」の中の一枚で、ゴシック建築の頃の手紙と家紋のついた封印が描かれています。
