牛の背で運ぶ郵便

Yaks have been used for postal delivery as well, of course.

I am surprised that this is the first Mongolian stamp I have featured. Together with their Qudum script, I like the frame decoration in relation to Tibetan Buddhism.

牛はなんでも引っ張った。モンゴルでは家の引越しにも使われ、もちろん郵便も牛の背で運ばれました。

モンゴルの切手をここで取り上げるのは初めてですが、チベット仏教の影響を受けた装飾や、縦書きのモンゴル文字が入るととてもエキゾチックで、好きな切手がたくさんあります。
