We are facing a global pandemic – all commercial and cultural gatherings are restricted here in the UK, too. It is heavy and sad to see and hear news from Italy, where a lot of friends of mine and their families live. People from Italy are telling us what to prepare, what to expect, and how people are supporting each other – this reminds me that we are living on one and only Spaceship Earth…
This is one of the early examples of the globe on a stamp – and modern and avant-garde design at that time. If you have 3D glasses with red and cyan color filters – please try.
限られた場所で広まっていた感染症は、あっと言う間にパンデミックになって世界中で移動が制限され、ここイギリスでも商店は閉じ文化活動が休止になっています。刻一刻と変わるイタリアの状況には胸がふさがる思いですが、そんな渦中から世界に向けて、何が起こっているか、どんな心構えで臨むべきかを伝えてくれる友人たちのメッセージを読むうちに、「宇宙船地球号」という言葉を思い出しました。
このデザインは地球儀をモチーフとした切手の中でも早い時期に生まれたもので、かなり前衛です。アナグラフと呼ばれる手法の3D画像なので、赤と青のフィルター付きめがねを持っている方はぜひ試してみてください。
