The final stamp of the year of the Horse is the work of a master craftsman – a rather unusually colourful Slania.
A brave design – the country name is written around the low circuit handrail, and well, missing the last E – but that seems nothing for them in comparison to a cool design. It is obvious that Slania is more interested in depicting the horse than the girl on top of it, and also took time on the facial expressions of the audience in the dark.
This is the 28th stamp of horses since this January and I have 70 more… Let’s wait for 12 years to feature them all!
午年最後の切手は、スラニアの作品では珍しくカラフルなサーカスの馬です。
国の名前が手すりの下に途切れとぎれで、しかも最後のEがないのだけれど、かっこいい切手のためなら国の名前なんて正確でなくてもOK、という鷹揚さが好きです。スラニアの軽妙な線の馬は歯切れよく、背後の暗がりの観客には表情がある。洒脱ながらも根気の仕事ですね。
さて、この1月から始めてこれで28枚目の馬の切手でしたが、数えるとまだ70枚残っていた。12年後を待ちましょう。
