2 February 1948, Belgium
Promotion of Belgium Export
This autumn I have been eating a lots of grapes. It seems this is a reaction to lack of wine – as I am in the medical treatments for last two months. Most grapes I eat are from Spain, but it looks grapes were important exporting item of Belgium in 1948.
Although mono coloured and simple design, this stamps has some strong impression for me.
The Flemish region of Flemish Brabant produces “table grapes” and have a protected designation of origin label. Those grapes are produced for eating not for producing wine : http://www.tafeldruif.be
The other one on the stamp is the leaf chicory which is also one of the biggest Flemish export !
Thank you, Jürgen, for these information. Ah, they are table grapes. Also, I thought another vegetable in the stamp were corn… they are chicory!
