Together with Radar, Penicillium Notatum and Jet Engines, television equipment is counted as one of the biggest inventions in Britain. BBC and Channel 4 are the successors of this invention – usage of that equipment has been developed for decades, to show us the great detail of sports in recent Olympic and Paralympic games.
I wonder if thees equipment are from the time of stamp? Beautiful colours and composition, looks like a woodblock print.
レーダーの発明やペニシリンの発見などと並んで、テレビが「イギリスの発見と発明」に数えられています。オリンピックやパラリンピックでBBCとチャンネル4が頑張ったあの驚異的な接写は、そんな技術者の情熱を受け継いでいるのですね。
ここに描かれているカメラ類はこの切手の頃のものでしょうか？木版画のような雰囲気をたたえ、色の重なりが美しい切手です。
