The previous two stamps are from a set, completed by these three. They are all on one sheet, as shown below. Bubo bubo, known as the Eurasian Eagle-owl, is a large owl, with a wingspan of up to 2 metres. The smaller one beside it, Tengmalm’s Owl, is similar in appearance to the Tawny Owl, which is hooting near by our house these days, but has a golden ring in its eyes.
上の写真はこのポストのトップから3枚の切手と前回、前々回のポストの切手をあわせたシートです。一番大きく描かれているワシミミズクは大きいフクロウで、翼を広げると2メートルになるものあるそうです。その翼の下の小さめのフクロウはキンメフクロウで、見かけは近くの森で啼いているモリフクロウに似ていますが、目に金色の輪があることが特徴です。
